Counsel Chinese students in Mandarin, in your own time zone.

Who we’re looking for

Counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists who hold a current licence or registration where they live and can work with clients in Mandarin.

This includes registration with the HCPC, BACP or UKCP in the UK; an LPC, LMHC, LMFT, LCSW or psychologist licence in the US; registration with a provincial college or certification with the CCPA in Canada; and registration with AHPRA, PACFA or the ACA in Australia. Equivalent registration in New Zealand, Ireland, Singapore and other countries is also welcome.

You have completed professional training in counselling, psychotherapy or clinical psychology and receive ongoing supervision or consultation. Experience with university students and young adults is an advantage.

We pay through Wise, so you’ll need to be able to receive Wise transfers where you live.

The work

Clients are mainly Chinese students at universities abroad. Common concerns include anxiety, depression, insomnia, academic stress and adjustment difficulties.

Sessions take place by video, in Mandarin, and last 30 or 50 minutes. We match you with students who live where you are licensed to practise. They are usually in your time zone, so sessions fall within your normal local hours.

Yoren works with psychiatrists from hospital departments ranked among China’s top ten for psychiatry. Clients who need a psychiatric assessment can consult them through Yoren.
